    Hello there!
Im trying to fix my brother in law computer, which has 2gb memory - 200gb hdd and a amd athlon 64 dual core processor, gfx card: Sapphire Radeon HD 4350 256MB DDR2..

    Onto the problem..
He had some problems with windows so i went over there to format it, after formating and windows 7 had copied(installed) all files needed and it does it's reboot(to the point where you dont boot the w7 for setup). I'll call it that windows was installed.. Anyhow..

When the windows7 logo pops up and it loads.. It takes abit of time then the logo disapperes and a black screen just shows (this is where it should jump into where you create a username+password etc after the windows install).

I've tried a diffrent monitor but that wasnt the problem, i dont have a second gfx card to put in to the comp to test if it's that...

Anyone come across this problem before? Im a IT guy but never seen such a problem occure before so im clueless here >_>

Thanks in advance for those who can help me!

(Oh and it's windows 7 enterprise edition that im using on he's comp, i also tried my copy of windows 7 ultimate but the same thing happened).

Are there on-board graphics as well as the Radeon Graphics card? Never had a problem there with a fresh install but that might be the cookie. Can you boot into safe mode? F8 during boot. If the on-board graphics (probably VGA) are accessible you could deal with it through device manager from there...or pull the card entirely, and then install it afterwards...:confused

and of course get the latest software/drivers from the web site, not the disc that came with the card

When trying to boot in safe mode it says "windows install not complete"(or something along those lines).
The standard drivers from W7 should be there on the boot sequence where you get to set your computer name - Login name etc...

Also the computer meets all the requirements needed for it to work properly.
