Black Screen In Browser Window.

Good day. Recently, whenever I open my browser (Google Chrome) or minimize it and then bring it back to full screen, the window remains black until I click on it and move it, at which point it displays the webpages properly. I asked for help in the malware removal forum but all my scan logs were clean, so they recommended that I post here to seek help with my issue. Thank you in advance for any assistance and advice that you may be able to provide.

 

Please let us know about your system:
1. Desktop or Laptop - what is the brand name and exact model number?
2. Operating System - Win Vista, 7 8 or Windows 10?

You can try resetting Chrome to its defaults:

Laptop. Asus F555UA-EH71 Windows 10 Home. Resetting Chrome didn't work.

 

I suggest you try using Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge (both pre-installed on Windows 10) and if the same symptoms do NOT replicate themselves in those browsers, then the problem is with Chrome.

Fixed the 100% black Google Chrome issue.
Here is what worked for me...
1. Unpin Chrome icon from task bar so it is on the desktop.
2. Right mouse click on said icon and left click on Properties.
3. Click on Shortcuts tab
4A. In Target window, add this exact text: [space]--disable-gpu"
4B. The end of the text string in the Target window should now read: ...chrome.exe" --disable-gpu"
5. Double click on the desktop icon and Chrome should open correctly. If you want, you may pin this icon to the taskbar.
6. Left single click on the "Customize" icon in the top right, which is the 3 horizontal lines icon. Select "Settings" from the list.
7. Select "Show advanced settings..." at the bottom.
8. Deselect "Use hardware acceleration when available."

4A. In Target window, add this exact text: [space]--disable-gpu"
4B. The end of the text string in the Target window should now read: ...chrome.exe" --disable-gpu"

without the underline...
