Hi, I just installed winxp pro over win98se on my old pent II 450 pc. It seemed to be running fine, no install errors, etc. Now when I rebooted it comes up to a black screen with nothing on it but a line at the top saying Bios ver 3.5 Does this mean I have to upgrade my bios??? is it a driver issue? I can't even access safe mode, help!

No, that is the version of your Bios. If you can boot into [SAFE] mode, then you can look at the Error log in Admin Tools. It is also possible that your machine may not be compatible 100% with XP. You may be better off going with Win2k.

Bad RAM stick, or bad RAM slot. Pull out the chips and reseat. If does not fix it, time to probably purchase new RAM.
