Black Screen..

So I'm using windows 7 home premium.. its legit and activated...
But I can't set my wallpaper... Ok well I can but for the most part 90% of the time when I shut down / start up or reboot my desktop is black... black as in no wallpaper.. all my desktop icons/folders are still there as they were but it won't keep wallpaper.. I've searched online for a few days only to find no solution since anything I've tried doesn't seem to work...

For the record before anyone asks I have done the following:

Ease Of Access setting - "remove background images (where available)"
the option wasn't checked to begin with, but i tried checking it, rebooting and unchecking it... didn't fix anything

Spyware / Virus Scan - Super Anti Spyware, Malwarebytes & Avast.... CLEAN

CHKDSK - 100% completed... didn't fix it.

SFC / Scannow - 100% completed... didn't fix it.

At first I had Panda Cloud Antivirus on, thought it may have been that, removed it... thought it may have been slim drivers as well removed it... problems still happen.

Video Drivers
I have updated my video drivers to the latest available.

At first I had a desktop that would stay, but it just vanished all of a sudden.. I don't have the option to format, currently house sitting and I just recently did format (was on windows 8, went back to 7)...

Any help would be greatly appreciated specially if it fixed things.. If I have to stay with a black desktop with no wallpaper thats fine, but it would be nice to fix it.

can you create a new user account and login to that one? maybe its some kind of profile corruption.

 

yes i can create another user account and login, but won't that mean that I loose all my desktop icons ? or is there a way around that ?

 

Ironman - THANK YOU, you have fixed my desktop problem, I now have wallpaper... Plus with the help of google I found out how to bring all my stuff forward... So thank you very much for helping me with my problem.

People like you are the reason I always come back to this message board when I have problems, because people on this message board and the MG site are all....

I always recommend people to goto this site if they have problems for that reason.

 

For the record the problem came back.. Things seemed fine at first but they're now back.. I guess I'll just deal with the black screen since if I have to create a new profile and transfer files every day it'll drive me nuts..
