Black Squares Appearing While Scrolling With All Browsers

I tried a Geek search without much luck and a google search got some hits but no solutions.

It seemed widespread and for a number of years. I'm surprised Major Geeks hasn't figured out a fix.

I use three different browsers - Firefox, Opera & Avast. Win 7

Recently while scrolling, using any of my browsers black squares start to appear, randomly on the screen covering the information on the page.

They pop up all over, group together to form rectangles and seem to increase in number the more I scroll.

Shutting down the browser and bring it up again halts the action for a few minutes and then it's back.

Virus protection programs and malware programs don't find any problems.

Any suggestions for ridding my browsers of this extremely annoying activity ("invasion of the black squares")

    Thanks,

Have you check to make sure your video card is not overheating...

Have you tried saving your browser bookmarks and uninstalling and reinstalling them...And perform a clean install.

Don't know how to do that.
Yes. Everything I've seen or read indicates it's an O/S problem that started with Chrome and is now on all browsers. It seems to have been occurring off and on for at least ten years based on dates of some of the postings on other forums.

Use Speccy in this link -->>http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/Speccy.htm

It will help check your current temp on some parts..

I currently Run windows 7 my self and don't run into any problems...

Did you try the majorgeeks virus and maleware scan system???

I would try these options below.

First let's run a check disk to see if there are any errors. It was created by one of are geeks for easy use.Make sure you...Right click on icon to give it administrator rights.

You can use this batch file below..

Then let's check and see if you are missing any windows files..

System File Checker will scan for missing or errors in windows it self...

    Open start menu

Then in start menu click on search.

Then in search type CMD or command prompt.

Then right click on command prompt for administrator rights.

While in the command prompt or black box Capture.PNG 2.PNG Type this --->> SFC /scannow

This will take a few minutes to scan for missing windows files or errors.Let use know if there are any error pop ups in the black box.

Never got past SFC /scannow Couldn't get it to scan. Right click didn't have a selection for administrator rights.
That Speccy program showed me three temps, all below 75, so I guess it's not a heat problem.
    Thanks for trying.
    Cheers

Try restarting the system and enter safe mode

And run the SFC scan there.

While rebooting keep pressing F8 continuously till you reach the screen below.

    Windows 7.jpg

Let it boot into safe mode and try the same process.

I must apologize for not following up on this thread. I've been a bit under the weather lately and haven't been using my PCs. I think I may be getting too old for this (I'm 80).
Been using PCs since before Windows and I think Win7 will be my last.
Thanks for everyone's help with this problem, maybe in the future someone else will encounter it and ask for MajorGeek help and the solution will be posted.
    Cheers.
