Blank DVD/CD auto run burn program

Until a few weeks ago, whenever I 'loaded' a blank DVD or CD into my burner, Windows XP would run my Sonic program that I use for burning.

Naturally I have no idea why Windoze decided to stop doing that, nor do I know why it did it in the first place.

But I got used to it and it happens to be one of the few (very few) things that Windoze did (without asking) that I found convenient. :p

I've looked all over, starting with Folder Options (File Types) and can't find a way to get that working again. :(

Can someone step me through what I need to do to get that working again.

    Thanks

Think this might be what you want.

To switch between DLA and the default recording program:
In My Computer, right-click your recorder drive, then click Properties.
    The Properties dialog box appears.
Select the DLA tab on the Properties dialog box.
If a check mark appears beside the Drag-and-drop recording option, DLA will be used for your drag-and-drop recording. If the box is empty, the default program will be used.

When I went there, there was a check mark, so I removed it.

Tried the blank DVD and nothing happened. :(

So, I went back and checked it.

Tried a blank DVC and nothing happened. :(

While double checking I noticed a Tab labeled Auto Run. It appeared to be the place to use to cause the Sonic program to load when a blank DVD was loaded.

    That didn't work either. :(

BTW - I have a duplicate system (completely identical in all aspects) and the DVD Burner Drive Property settings on Machine A are identical to those on Machine B. One works (A) and the other (B) doesn't.

    Any other suggestions?

Might have to do with a change in the registry, or an outdated driver, sorry I'm not advanced enough to help you with that.

    Hi again,

I don't know if you fixed your problem yet, but might want to look at this.

Create a Restore Point prior to making any changes just in case you don't like the result.

    Good Luck
