I have alot of mp3 files on my computer but I've always had a few gigs of disk space until recently getting on the network at my school I barley have 300mb of disk space left and I have no idea where its going. Any Ideas???

    Thanks

Could be a virus that you have picked up. Or it could be that you have without knowing it madde multiple copies of your files.

Try running your antivirus software, with upto date definitions.

Failing that browse your disk to see if there are multiple copies of the same file

I second the virus theory. A few years back I had one that kept writing 5MB garbage files into a folder. I went from a couple of gigs of free space to almost nothing in about 15 minutes.

Maybe a virus. But download and run these 3 as well

    Cleanup! http://www.stevengould.org/
    EmpTemp http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=1575
    and CrapCleaner aka CCleaner http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4191

They will get rid of other crap from each session on the net. Run Cleanup! first with the volume up, then CC then EmpTemp. All 3 are free, don't conflict with each other, and find stuff that each other misses. Reboot after running EmpTemp last and index.dat will be cleaned out and reset to default size. Run all 3 every day after every net session. Bazza

Good, run all 3 every day. Also a defrag of your hard drive will probably help as well. Run it with as little as possible else running. If you haven't defragged for a while it may take ages. If necessary run it overnight. I use Norton Speed disk nearly every day, as well, to keep files in good shape and contiguous. Only takes a few minutes that way. Bazza
