Blinking?

    Hi, minor problem but annoying...
The 'quick launch' section of my task bar, on my right (it is the QB, right?), has begun 'blinking, ie, quickly alternating between all icons and those identified to be visible. I have Vista Home Premium on a HP Pavilion lap top. This began immediately after I installed a new printer and software (they seem fine).

I can uninstall them and redo, but I'd like an alternative if there is one.
    Thanks a bunch.

    Hi

Quick Launch is normally on the left near in Vista the Start Orb icon, if you have flashing entries then they are trying to take attention as the dominent application, its normal in part.

What Service Pack is your Vista at?

What Printer make and model are you using? what you cna do is to disable the printer applications from starting as that may help, use StartupCPL to disable them and not as many would advise msconfig, in for a world of issue if use msconfig.

Oh.. well it's the panel on the right, not the quick launch. Unsure re service pack, but all updates installed. Likely # 2 or 3. The printer is an HP Office Jet Pro 8500.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks
