Bliuetooth dongle-distance?

    How far do these things work?
    I have a usb Toshiba one and get a lot of interference,should I get a new dongle,my blue tooth stereo system is only about 6m away from my computer,I was wondering if my neighbours wireless devices are interfering?

    Hi

    They vary a lot depending on model some are short distances and some as far as 100m+ but the max distances are likely to have a reduced speed of data transfer and will also suffer from interference.

    What is the model of Toshiba BT dongle? only as I would like to see the data sheet and see if at app possible you can change the channel of the connection like you can with a Wifi router, I fear you cannot, but worth a look.

    Do I have to use a usb dongle or can I buy a piece to fit into my computer?
    Actually this is not a Toshiba,but rather a "Sitecom" (made in China)

    Although the usb dongle is "Sitecom" the driver is by Toshiba.
    It could ne my neighbours tv is interfering,through the wall next door.
    Can I get a booster or anything?

    No bluetooth is speced to be fairly low power. Not much you can do unless you move them closer to gather, or try lining the wall with something like tin foil to try to block some of those signals.
