blu ray playback

    hey all need to see if my dell precision 490 w/ 2 dual xeon 5120(?) processors with 4gb ram could handle a blu ray drive install.

    sys is
    dual xeon processor
    4gb ram
    win 7 pro
    not sure what else would be relevant to this

    Your system should be powerful enough to handle a Blu-Ray drive; however the standard Windows Media Player does not support Blu-Ray playback.

    I confess I've yet to find the perfect BD playback program. You can try VLC Media Player (free in the downloads section) - if it doesn't work, I'd check reviews on Amazon and Newegg for paid apps. such as Nero.
