blue error screen then re-start ??

I'm not sure if this is to do with software or hardware really, possibly both.

My computer was replaced by its maker TINY just 3 weeks after I got it, bacause of something wrong with it that made it keep shutting down or re-starting. Sometimes when the old computer shut down, it would appear with a blue screen for a few seconds before doing it.

The machine it was reaplaced by has been perfect for 2 months, until the other day when it suddenly got the blue screen and shut down! I had alot of programs running at the time but it should have been able to handle it as it has 1gb of RAM and 3.4Ghz processor. It also did it again this afternoon, when I had less programs running, and I cought one part of the blue screen message: "Driver IRQL not less or equal". I also noticed that both times the thing happened when I opened the program to watch tv through my digital TV card.

Does anyone know what's happened? I'm worried that this computer will start to go as wrong as the last one!!

there seem to be a lot of *answers* to this one, when it was happening to me it was a usb/firewire card I installed.. but this can be a few things .. read this info see if any thing fits.
