    Hello everyone,

    OK, I have a problem...My computer is a Dell Deminsion 4600(few years old)..At start-up I am getting a blue screen error....it says:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

The problem seems to be caused by the file: nv4_disp

If this is the first time you've seen the Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this appears again follow these steps:

The device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. This usually indicates a problem with the device itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly.

Please Check with your hardware device vendor for any driver updates.

    Technical information:

    *** STOP: 0x000000EA (0x81BE2BE0, 0x82BB158, 0x82183538, 0x00000001)

    nv4_disp
    Beginning dump of physical memory
    Physical memory dump complete
Contact your system Administrator or technicial support group for further assistance.

    --------End of error message------

Now i have the device driver CD's but can't get "out" of the blue error screen to try and run them!! Anyone had this error before?? Know how to fix it?? What causes it?? Any ideas?? Please help me!!

    Thanks

Just some general info: most files that start with 'nv....' are NVidia files relating (of course) to your video card. Try last known good configuration boot up.....
