Over the last few weeks I have been receiving an uncountable amount of BSOD's during system startup. Basically it starts to boot normally, then it throws up a BSOD with something about ACPI.sys, si i reboot and it comes up again, this happens about 3 times (I CANT EVEN BOOT INTO SAFE MODE! it locks up :( ). Then I get more and more with different messages (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA, PFN_LIST_CORRUPT, FltMgr.sys, Atapi.sys......... and the list goes on:confused) as I continue, enter ~10-15 reboots I finally get into windows :zzz and as I am using the comp they also randomly come up, making me reboot. But once i am in windows i can reboot without going through all this. I manages to submit a few error reports to MS, and one I sent in MS says that it is caused my anti virus, so i am trying to uninstall now, and all the others i sent in they have no cause or solution to the errors...:cry

Win XP Pro SP2, 1.7GHz cpu, 512 ram

    :mad

Thought this could be a driver related issue?

    Hi ya Cameron...

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL can be a driver issue.
A "for example" would be Logitech keyboard and mouse drivers.
XP and they don't seem to get along.

Your best bet to begin with is to try to "disable" your virus protection before attempting to remove it.
Many virus protections don't like to be removed and thus runs into other issues when attempted.

    Start button/Run/ "type" msconfig
    Then "Enter" or click "Ok"
New window... click "Startup" tab on top.
Look for anything within the list that relates to your virus program and uncheck it. "remove the checkmark".
    Click "Apply" then "Ok"
You'll be prompted to reboot... do so.
If your virus program is the problem you'll see immediate results.

Try this first and we'll take it from there.

Logitech keyboard and mouse drivers work fine with XP, and even Vista.

Yeah, it could be a driver error; but the reality of it is; its multiple files. Now, multiple causes and multiple errors?

    I don't think so.

This is almost guaranteed to be an underlying hardware issue.

Please post your entire specs please, including the wattage of your power supply.

Also, run a memory test overnight.

If there is even just one error, your ram is flaky and needs to go.
