blue screen..help,please

i got my first blue screen error since the reformat last week...kernal/inpage/data/error...how can i fix this error or any blue screen error..i havnt installed any new software other than aol and photoshop,atleast thats all i know of..my mom uses this computer too...heres what we are using...windowsxp/home....

 

well...anybody know? what causes the blue screen error and how do you fix these errors? run scandisk...is it registry...whats the deal?

Hello everyone,

I can't seem to get rid of the blue screen that appears everytime I reboot my computer. I went into the f8 mode and tried rebooting from safe mode, rebooting from my xp boot cd, umplugging all the power sources and I can't even get on to the recovery console. My computer will not take me past the blue screen no matter what I try.

The message on the blue screen reads:

" A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration, and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.
