Blue screen of death - unreadable

Okay so here is what happened. I was placing a SD card into my labtop and then i was gonna turn off my labtop (windows Vista i believe it is)

I must have put it in wrong, or pulled it out at the wrong time, because I Blue Screened of Death. By accident.

BUT here is the problem: the screen itself was unreadable!

Not becuase of the letters were gibberish, the screen itself was, and I'm not sure how to say it, but it the image on the screen was being displaced so the words were unreadable.

Right now, the computer auto restarted and I booted it in safe mode just to be sure, but I'm not sure what to do. It's almost 1 in the morning at the time of posting, so I'm just gonna shut it down, and go to bed.

And to add insult to injury, it turns off as I am posting this.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

My suspicion is the graphics card is the issue and not the SD card. I'm almost positive the minidump will confirm this.

I'm having similar issues — during POST, some of the letters are missing, when booting into the Safemode menu choices, some of the letters are missing. I can't even complete Vista installation because my graphics card goes into an infinite loop.

I have to enable VGA mode in Windows XP at minimum resolution (600 x 480). If i try to increase resolution, the graphics card "freaks out".

Boot into Safemode again and enable Low Resolution. You'll be able to use the computer until you can replace the graphics card. This is what I'm doing right now with my laptop.

 

Could you post the minidump as a .ZIP attachment? It should be in C:\Windows or C:\Windows\minidump and have the file extension .dmp. With you running Vista, it may be a Kernel dump instead of a 64K minidump.
