Blue Screen of Death

Hi all,

My computer keeps restarting in the middle of use. It seems to be a driver related problem, although I'm not sure. Sometimes it jumps straight to the blue screen of death and restarts and other times it gives me a services and controller app error and counts down a minute before the computer restarts. I have the error messages ready but I want to post the hijack before my computer restarts again. Any help appreciated.

The error message on the blue screen of death reads two different messages, but most of the time it reads STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x00000008, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xF757DBEF)

NDIS.sys- Address F757DBEF base act F7567000, DateStamp 41107ec3

The services and controller app reads SYSTEM SHUTDOWN- the system process C:\\windows\system32\services terminated unexpectedly with status code -1073741819.

The error message also says IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Here is the HJT log of my computer after running Adaware, CCleaner, Trend Micro, Spybot S&D, and recently installed AVG.

 

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am on a Compaq R3000 laptop that's about 3 years old and that I am running Windows XP SP2 on an Intel 4 processor. The positioning of the fans is really bad on this laptop and it tends to overheat so that could be part of the problem.

 

I did a little bit research at the Microsoft Knowledge Base and it seems to be a common problem on various Compaq PC's. It may also be related to Sygate Firewall (if you're running it). Try this link and see if anything there helps you out....

Thanks for the link hopperdave, but unfortunately, I'm not running Sygate and none of those topics in the microsoft database matched exactly what's happening to my computer. Any other ideas?
