blue screen recovery console

sorry i'm not sure where this belongs but i think its about software

so i have a thread going in the malware section and i need to be able to access my recovery console, but every time i try to i get a blue screen. i have uninstalled and reinstalled with combofix, done a CHKDSK /F and nothing has helped and my PC didn't come with a windows disk.

i found this site which has a FAQ about getting to the recovery console, http://www.pnelsoncomposer.com/FAQs/RecoveryConsole.html but it talks about getting your hard disk controller driver on a floppy to access the recovery console without getting a blue screen but i have been unable to find this driver. according to his instructions, i went into the device manager and checked out my controllers, but i don't really see a manufacturer, i just see a provider, microsoft, and on their site i can't find anything about a hard disk controller and i'm somewhat lost as to how i should proceed
