I have a Dell Dimension 5150 with a Pentium R 2.80 processor. Microssoft updates were installed and I got this blue screen saying windows has been shut down . It won't boot into safe mode or from the last known good configuration. I put the Windows Xp disk in it and turned it on and I get the same message. STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005,0xF7A648EB,0xF7A647F4,0xF7A644F0) whatever that means tp you, if anything. Help please::cry

Sounds like you just installed Service Pack 3...

This error, as M$ describes it, can be caused from upgrading from SP2 or SP3 (and other situations).

Make sure you're booting to the Windows CD.

On most dells pressing F12 will bring up the boot selection, do this as soon as you see the dell logo appear.

Choose CD/DVD when you get the menu.

You should then see "Press any key to boot from CD...."

Press any key within 4 seconds to boot from CD.

    Windows Setup should start loading.

At the first screen, you'll press enter to Setup windows.

Don't worry, we're not earsing any of your data.

At the second screen Press R to perform a Repair on Windows.

This reinstalls windows, in a nutshell, without erasing the hard drive, leaving all your data and programs intact.

This process takes about 30 minutes and your computer will reboot a couple of times.

Once this is finished you should be able to get into windows.

If you get a blue screen during any time during this process, stop, they're could be a hardware issue with your computer or an issue with the CD drive or the CD itself. In this case, you can try a different Windows CD, be sure it's the same version, or a different CD drive if you have one availble. Otherwise, I would suggest taking your hard drive out of the computer and putting it in another computer to copy off any data you might have, you wont be able to save any programs, such as Microsoft Excel, but you would be able to save any Excel workbooks. If there is nothing you need saved, and only if there is nothing, when booting up your computer press CTRL+F11 to boot to the System Recovery, and this process will bring it to the factory load when you purchased your computer. Likewise don't do anything you don't feel comfortable doing, if you have important data on the computer, take it to a friend or a technician to at least back up your data, now I wouldn't pay someone to press F11 as the process is fully automated.

This is another question along that same line. I for sure don't want to mess with service pack 3 again, but what about service pack 2?
I have a smartphone and I can utilize Direct Push if my Microsoft Exchange Server is upgraded to Service Pack 2.
Obvioulsy I don't now because my email is not automatically sent to Outlook.
I don't want to download it, if my computer will crash like it did the last time.
I'm not even sure what my Microsoft Exchange Server is.
    Any suggestions?
