Blue screen

    This is not an urgent enquiry, but i've just bought a 2nd hand tower of a friend because he's had enough of it, basically the problem is that on every boot up he/i get a blue screen with lots of vertical lines and loads of garbled text, this is after the desktop screen appears(as normal).

    The pc can be started in safe mode ok.

    Any Ideas, if not it's no great loss

    Right off the bat without specs, OS and such, I would say video driver needs to be updated, or the video card is bad.

    Cheers, what i'll do is rig the thing up tommorow and see what i can make out on the screen, and any other relevant details.

    being new i dont know where to stick this post , so i'll stay here(what with being egotistical)but this is so mundane...i can't get into yahoo games, i'm registered and all that, but when ilog on nothing happens?

    i've tried backdoors ,front doors....no good.

    sorry 4 posting this lamo here, but it's little things like this that annoy me the most..grrr
