While I was away from computer it shut down and a blue screen came up when I signed back on.
I tried to copy some of what is in the message, but could not. It has an 866 phone number for contact, but from time to time when surfing I get "warnings" about my computer malfunctions and wanting me to call a certain phone number. I know they are scams as they want med to furnish passwords. I am not sure if this is some scam.
I can hand copy the error info if need.

Use the build-in Snipping Tool to capture the "warning" and upload it so we can view it.

Using any screenshot software to try to grab a pic of a popup or menu often causes the very popup you are trying to capture to close, defeating the purpose. I know you don't like the PrtScrn > Paint way of doing this but sometimes it is the only effective way.

A larger program download, PicPick, definitely does not and I've used that for at least a couple of years. Have you tried either one?

Assume then it's a scam... until you're satisfied that it's NOT.

I had to leave for a short time, got back to find grandson had restarted computer, and playing game. Surmise it is working OK, no complaints from youngster except for fussing he got for getting on computer without permission. No smoke billowing from computer, no hiccups prevalent. Will watch for any problems. Would like to know why snip not working.
    Thanks for help though, appreciated.

I would recommend on running SUPERAntiSpyware just in case with a scan of malwarebytes.

Ran Sup Anti Spy. Found some PUP's and tracking cookies. Does this free program just ID and I have to purchase regular program to rid computer of problems? I ask as I cannot find anything to remove findings.

Run the system file checker. Open a command prompt 'As Administrator' and type sfc /scannow <rtn>

Disregard this...was delay in finish of scan and results coming up.

Holy mackerel I have to do a safe boot and then type sfc.scannow. Will have to come back later and do that.

If you type it like that, all you will get is an error.
Note the correct way with a space between and no dot anywhere
    Code:
    sfc /scannow

You seem to consistently have so many problems on your system that I wonder whether you should consider a clean fresh reinstall from an up to date windows 7 download. All you would need to do is save any important data on to a DVD-R or USB Pendrive, run one of the programs (such as Produkey) to get your exact Windows OS COA Product Key, then reinstall. If not I fear you are just going to continue posting issues here ad nauseam.

You can do a safe boot if you want to but that wasn't what I said. Use the Start button and type cmd, and where cmd.exe appears above, right click it and click Run as Administrator.

Right now I would try almost anything, but it seems the more I try the more problems I encounter. Tried administrator, keep getting PW rejection, little black book of PW's lost with many items when home flooded in hurricane Harvey
Will get Pendrive tomorrow, don't need a slew of DVD's .

You should keep your passwords on something like LastPass that way they are always at your finger tips.
