Hi all, first of all I'm a noob with a limited knowledge of computer issues so aplogoies if this is in the wrong forum etc.

I have recently purchased some homeplugs in order to relay my internet connection upstairs to my room, things were working out alright, windows update was on and probably downloaded a few updates, but recently my computer has been spontaneously crashing.
I see a black screen with something along the lines of ....

    SiS 191 UNDI, PXE 2.1
    Media test failure check cable
    Operating system not found
    Exiting SiS191 boot rom

Recently I have also experiencecd a blue screen with some thing like

    IQRL NOT LESS OR EQUAL

This went by so fast that I coud'nt note down in depth what was on it.

I have a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo mobile laptop running Windows Vista basic on one partition and windows XP on another.

Im at work at the mo so don't know stats off hand,

This is a link to the specs of the system, I believe I have a core duo processor.

The issues are tend to happen when I plug in my network cable and connect to the net on vista, it will usually be around an hour in, when I will experience the black screen.

Any ideas as to how I resolve these issues and what I should do? :)

If you see this shortly after powering on the PC, it's nothing. You have the boot order in the system BIOS set to try to boot from the network before it tries to boot from the hard drive. If your network is not setup for booting (and it obviously is not) the you will get an error and that's what you're seeing. The "check cable" means to check the network cable, not a big deal, You can get rid of this message my simply making the hard drive the first boot device in the system BIOS. Also, be sure that you have the setting in the BIOS for "LAN boot ROM" set for disabled or off. What we really need is the exact wording of the blue screen error message and the error number; it typically looks something like STOP:0x000000EA or something similar....
