    Hello all!

I just bought an Acer Aspire 4736z notebook from a friend, it's OS was windows seven home. I've just clean installed windows seven x32 ultimate.

Now the problem is, when I tried to install bluetooth driver from the manufacturer's site, it says no bluetooth device detected. Please tell me what is the problem, I've tried fn+F buttons, not working, and the button with Bluetooth icon also not works, it still has x mark.

I asked my friend, he said he doesn't use bluetooth, and don't know about computers. I've made some googling and found that Aspire 4736z do has bluetooth 2.0 + EDT.

Your help will be very much appreciated!

    Regards.

    Hi

What Service Pack is your Win7 Ult at?

In Device Manager do you have any yellow ! marks and if so by what devices?
Also while in Device Manager do check in the list to see if Bluetooth is listed, if it is not then it could be because of a missing Chipset or that it may need enabling in the BIOS (some settings for devices can be disabled/enabled in the BIOS)

But what I would try is this and install the Chipset driver HERE and reboot (crucial step)

Then install the Bluetooth driver HERE and reboot and test.

Then use this guide HERE to check enabling of Bluetooth devices and more so to check the control panel for Bluetooth options.

If you have any other missing devices your drivers are HERE

    Hi.

Thank you for your reply. Sorry for this late response, my internet was down several days.

I'm using 7 ultimate 32-bit. In device manager i don't see any bluetooth, but I have 4 ! yellow marks. 3 base system devices in other devices. And one unknown device in USB controllers.

    Hi

Install the drivers I posted in the order I mentioned in post #2 and see if your Bluetooth works.

Once they are installed do again look in device manager for any yellow ! marks and let us know what they are next too.

Did you try the Chipset first before the blue tooth driver?

yes, I direct install it. But the installation went very quickly. I mean it finishes very quick but it says installation completed. or do I need ti unistall my current chipset driver first?

    Hi

No you should not need to uninstall your current chipset driver but you do need to reboot once it is installed as its crucial to other drivers installing ok.

Once you have installed the Chipset and rebooted what devices in Device Manager are with yellow ! marks?

I still cannot see any bluetooth device. And in device manager there're still three exclamation marks. How do I know what are the unknown devices?

    Thank you for your help

I just pulled up the specifications sheet for your 4736Z. It does indeed support Bluetooth but if there's no Bluetooth card installed in the laptop, you won't have Bluetooth.

The spec sheet may also give you an idea as to what the devices showing with the exclamation points are and you can then obtain the appropriate drivers.

According to Acer support site, I've installed all drivers needed for this laptop except bluetooth. All are working properly, but in device manager, there are still there yellow ! marks.

On that specifications sheet at the top of the page there's a link to Acer Support (next to the Support Documents link).

Click on that and it will bring up the Acer Support page. Click on your location flag ant it will bring up support for that location.

The second item on the page allows you to find drivers and manuals for your computer by entering your serial number or SNID in the box and clicking Search. There are instructions on how to find those numbers and there's even an option to auto detect them.

Once you enter that information, the correct drivers for your particular computer will be available for download. Once you install them, you may need to restart your computer for them to take effect AND you MAY have to restart your computer after each one — it's a pain to have to do so, I know — I have to do that with my Dell laptop for several of the drivers.

    Hope this helps. :)
