I am using a Compaq CQ40, which has built in bluetooth. Great so no worries, my little Ipaq 214 and R306 all link up to it without trouble and send files backwards and forwards with no problem. Well until this week. Now although the deveices connect okay, passkeys can be entered and connections made, I just cannot send a file and i cannot see why. Is this a hardware problem or a Vista (my personal guess) problem or have I just pressed something I should not have. Anyone have any ideas because this is driving mad?

Please move if this is a networking/software thing.

    6to4 Driver, a myth?

I need a 6to4 ver. 6.0.6000.16386 driver as my Compaq CQ40 has destroyed my prior driver, I cant restore the system and my bluetooth no longer works: http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=189818 I cannot find this driver anywhere, MS seem to think it cant go wrong so hey why bother releasing the driver. If anyone has a copy could you please, please, pretty please send me a version?

    Hi Rik

You tried the Bluetoothdriver for your exact model from Compaq support? drivers are here but you will have to narrow down your exact model version. Then choose Vista and Software Support for HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology for Microsoft Windows Vista driver.

What if any devices in Device Manager have yellow ! marks?

MSFT dont release drivers!? they may offer some via autoupates from time to time, but these are only ones that passed WHQL testing, all drivers are from manufacturer of hardware.

Hi halo, thanks for the reply

Well this is not exactly a seperate driver but rather part of the Vista package, there is a nice MS troubleshhoting thread about it, which I have been through to no avail. My use fo the word driver is just that I cant think what else to call it. Yes the 6to4 is flagged with a code 31 in the device manager hence me concluding this is probably the culprit for no bluetooth. I have been through compaq who seem to think the answer lies in a system restore, not possible, and the one driver bunch they did give me was for wifi and did not affect the 6to4. I had a run down the driver list and cannot find any driver that impacts on the 6to4. So I am pretty stuck.

    Hi rik

I use Vista and have 2 bluetooth keyboards and mice, that work fine, so for giving me so idea on your issue, could you post the link to MS forum you mention on this (unless its the one already linked too) and maybe a screenshot of your Dev Manager branch for this device, branch and actual driver verson would be great (driver tab)

Also you using x86 or x64 Vista? and what service pack?

If you boot into Safe Mode do you get the same issue?

In Network properties have you diabled TCP/IPv6?

Disable Firewall if a 3rd party one to test.

In device manager double click the 6to4 driver and choose driver tab and click update, and see if this driver updates online.

This thread myabe worth a read here personally not come across this one before so is a learning curve thing for me.

Hi Halo, yes thats the MS thread up above. Also, and more specific to me is the following thread: http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winvista/t1190414616

The firewall, norton though shortly to become ZA, has no affect. The 6to4 is the latest ver. no update allowed.

I am using Vista home basic no frills and no sp however I am in HK at the moment, and brought my comp here and the company it comes from, although very big here, ships there HPs with a dual boot vista. This means that you set it up on initial boot as either a Chinese or UK system. It would nto suprise me at all if, even though this is a legit HP modified vista system, this is the source of the problem in some capacity.

I think I did troubleshoot the TCP/IPv6 but I will do again.

I have not run it in Safe Mode yet, but will go and do that and let you know the result.

Also re. the pics I have included a driver version image.
