Blur Around Moving Models in Games

I don't know whether this is software or hardware. I have confirmed that it is not the game, but perhaps pertains to the 3d engines.

I was playing assassin's creed 3 last night. I paused the game and came back 30 minutes later and suddenly all the moving models had a double vision effect. I have confirmed that this is not the game as it does it in both AC 3 and AC 2, Team Fortress 2 but not in Minecraft. The only other uniting element is that the games having trouble are through Steam which just updated. But I don't see how that would effects the games. As Steam only manages my access to the games and downloads them. The game itself is installed on my computer.

As a side note: I'm also getting an odd green message in the lower right screen. Odd an in it's never happened before.

I will try to get a screen shot but an ideas?

 

I would try:
1) check computer temperatures, especially the video card
2) shut down and check your connections
3) let it cool, see if they are back, if so probably not heat related
4) change screen resolutions
5) change monitors
6) try different video outputs
7) try the video card in a different computer
8) update your video drivers

Got a computer family member's help. Somehow, (and I did not enable it) the 3D mode was enabled. It would have looked great with my 3D glasses that I never use. If I had a cat, I'd blame the cat.
