Bookmarks Disappeared

Firefox has auto updated on my PC. But, all my bookmarks have disappeared. Is there a way to retrieve them?

 

FF should auto backup your bookmarks in the file 'bookmarks-"date".json'

 

I've followed your instructions and there are three options when I get to Restore. Two of those are files with dates and the third option is choose file. Both of the options with dates on have only 14 bookmarks each in them. I have many more than 14 bookmarks. I don't know which file to choose.

 

The file you need should be located in a profile folder on your hard-drive separate from the FF program.

Im not sure its possible to roll back on the updates, as this would put you at more of a security risk, but you can revert back to your older version if you know the version number but its not advised.

It's my understanding that Firefox creates a back-up of your bookmarks somewhere separately on your PC. Even if you were to uninstall Firefox this backup stays on your PC. What I could do with knowing is how to get all my bookmarks back from this backup. I can't believe I have to lose all the bookmarks I've accumulated.

The first link in #4 gives you all the information you should need to recover your bookmarks, for both current and earlier versions. Are the backups simply missing? They are present in my system.

 

They should appear something like this but it may take the system a little while to populate the list so be patient.
