I use Firefox and IExplorer. I usually save Bookmarks in FF. I use XP Home, and when I click Start and then on Favorites, none of the Bookmarks appear there. When I first started using FF I could import all the Favorites from IE to my Bookmarks. How can I move my Bookmarks into the Favorites list on my Start menu, or how can I have my Bookmarks on my Start menu in addition to my Favorites?

    Thanks!

    HI!
I don't have Firefox, but I know you have a Bookmarks Folder somewhere in Firefox's user files...whatever. You could 'Copy' that folder and then navigate to your IE Favorites Folder and Paste it there.
I just just tried this by creating a New Folder in my Favorites folder, named it 'Bookmarks' and it's there when I click on Favorites on my Start Menu.( empty of course since I don't HAVE any bookmarks...will delete it now)
    Worth a shot, I recon.

I'll give it a shot like you said, but give some guidance on where to find my Favorites folder.

    Thanks!

    Ok,
Right click your Favorites icon on your Start Menu and select 'Properties'
It will show you where it is....'Location'

Do you know if you can merge the two bookmark files?
I would like to use FF but have them under IE favorites so I can use Win Explorer for things like switching the list between alphabetical order and last date used order. What happens when you import the list into Favorites? Does it overwrite the list or integrate them?

There's a Firefox extension called PlainOldFavorites that allows IE and Firefox to share the same favorites/bookmarks.

Thanks! What a great idea! What I have at the moment is a collection of FF which includes my favorites and a collection of favorites which does NOT include my FF. How is that going to work with the new extension? Can I import all my FF bookmarks into Favorites and then add the extension? What would you recommend?

Never used the extension myself, but on the download page it says there's no need to import or synchronize anything. A screenshot shows a Favorites button added to the Firefox menu bar. It appears to me that if you want your Ff bookmarks in the Favorites, you still have to put them there yourself. Don't think it makes any difference if you do it before or after you install the extension.

    Thanks Greenknight!
I think I'm just confused about how the bookmarks work when it comes to managing them. If I go into FF, open the sidebar and then ask it to order them according to most recent rather than alphabetically, I can see they shift a tiny bit, but nothing changes. I think this is because they are mostly in folders and there's no most recent date for folders. I believe this is also true for the favorites. Do you know what the chronik refers to? (That may be the German term. Within FF it's under view, sidebar, and then there are two choices, bookmarks and chronic.) Is that something extra you have to set up which allows you to see which ones are newest?

oh, one other thing. I've noticed I can run FF and IE at the same time. Is there any reason why this could be a problem?

No, I do it all the time - that is one thing I really like about having more than one browser.
