I have several audio books (which I own) that I have copied to my computer. I just got an Ipod and am having difficulty getting them moved.

As an example when I move a folder the tags are all screwed up. I figured out how to change the overall ones, Title, author and such but it comes up with really wierd track names. These track names are not the ones that show in Windows. For this book there are 10 cd's and each has 99 tracks. I really don't want to have to try and change each and every track even if I could figure out how to do it in Itunes!

Is there a way to sequentially rename the tracks so they stay in the correct order when you play them back? Or some other way that I don't know about?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

so your saying that itunes wont display your tracks as "track 1, track2...ect" ? Because itunes will allow you to edit as many tracks as you want at once. just use the shift key and click the first and last tracks that you want to select(this will highlight all the tracks in between), then go right click and go to "get info", then just use the track # section to edit them all at once in one click.

Hope that helped, and sorry if it seemed like i was talking to a computer noob. I just cant tell how experienced you are.

Well I am an ITune's Noob!! :confused:This is more of a pain than I thought!

I tried your suggestion with the track 1 of 99 and it reordered them and since they aren't numeric I couldn't recover so I deleted them from the music folder. Well now I can't drag and drop the folders. They just don't appear in the Music Library. I tried adding the folder to the library through the menus as well as drag and drop the folder and the actual tracks! Maybe I should just give up! But if I can get that figured out again Windows shows the tracks as Track01, Track02 but Itunes shows it as different names like that of songs or some randomly generated words.

The ebst way is to treat each book CD as a single track.

Put in a CD, then go to advanced, join CD tracks.

    Then import it.

THere is no perfect solution for books. CDs will always be superior because of the indexing of chapters etc.

Dont forget to rename the extensions of the ripped books from .m4a to .m4b and then re-import them into the Library. Otherwise, iTunes will not see them as audiobooks.
