books you are reading and books you recommend

I am reading "snow crash" by Neal Stephenson.
not far enough in it to tell much about it, it is a fiction book.


i think everyone that uses computers (and has an intrest in it)
should read "fire in the valley" , i forget who it is by.

fire in the valley is very readable history of the "computer boom" tells allot about the devolopment of microsoft, and Mac computers. very informative.

 

I reccomend the Cold Fire trilogy:

When True Night Falls
Crown of Shadows

I just got done reading books 5 and 6 of Stephen King's The Dark Tower Series... very entertaining if you're a fan of the series. Standalone... they're kind of convoluted and a bit confusing if you didn't already know what's going on. In the beginning of book 5, there's a 50 page breakdown of the story so far, but it by no means covers everything that happened in the previous 4 books.

 

this book is better than 1st, 2nd, and quite possibly even 3rd

 

I am surprised how many Dark Tower fans there are here! A lot of people have read King's other books and not even really heard of the Dark Tower.

I would recommend Microsurfs. I picked it up in a library once and found it was better than I thought. It's about some employees from Microsoft, a sort of cult for Bill Gates and shares and setting up their own program company.
