Boot from CD - Extremely weird issues

    I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate. Somehow a few system files got corrupted. I would simply put in the Vista CD and do a Repair.... but it won't boot from it. My laptop will boot from it, but my desktop (the one I'm working on will not).

    Stranger yet, is that even though it won't boot from it, it will boot from a Windows 2000 CD.

    It's not a BIOS issue, since it'll boot from another OS's CD. It's not the CD, since my laptop can boot from it.

    Does anyone have a clue as to how to fix my computer?
