    Info:
    Hewlett-Packard HP dx5150 SFF
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (build 2600)
    2.00 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64
    256 kilobyte primary memory cache
    1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache
80.02 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
63.40 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space

Set up to receive MS updates automatically. Learned this requires computer be restarted.
However, instead of restarting, it displayed a message "boot from CD". I played around with it for a bit, and got it to display something about CMOS. After a few missteps, was able to get into windows mode.
Is there a way to get the program to start up going directly to Windows?

When you cold boot again, please post what the CMOS message says.

If I can do a screen shot in this venue, I will try that. Preclude my copying info wrong.

Could not figure how to copy to here or do a screen shot, so here is basically what comes up when I reboot:

    " Boot From CD

    F9 Boot Menu
    F10 Setup
    F12 Boot From LAN

    Phoenix Award Workstation BIOS
    CMOS Setup Utility

    Hard Disk
    CS2 M
    USB HDD0
    USB HDD1
    USB HDD2
    Bootable Add-In Cards
    Optical Drive
    Vh0M
    Network
    Network0
    LAN Cards"

To bring up Windows, I have to select F9, then CS2 M

In order to be able to boot from the CD, you have to set the Optical Drive ahead of the Hard Drive in the Boot menu. Currently, according to your list, the Hard Drive is first and the Optical Drive is 7th.

Silly question I have to ask, but is the CD tray empty or might there be a disk of some sort in it?

You can't paste where you want the boot device to go. You should see a menu at the bottom of the screen and it usually says to highlight an item then use the arrow keys to move the item up or down in the list. A mouse never works in the BIOS; you operate strictly through the keyboard.
Highlight Optical Drive then keep pressing the up arrow until it is in position number one. Check the menu at the bottom. Usually something like F10 exits the BIOS and saves the changes but read the menu before you start pressing keyboard keys.

    Greetings, Skysarge.

Trying to get a handle on what your exact problems are. In post #1 you stated:

Do I read this as you do not wish to boot to a CD, but that you do wish to boot into Windows?

More importantly, your boot order is showing Hard Disk as #1 so you should be booting into Windows. Instead, you stated this:

    What is CS2 M?
