Hi my xp pro sp2 wont boot, safemode shows documents still there but cant transfer them due to blue screen saying memory dump Did system restore but that wont work as it blue scrrens too ect. Tried booting from cd and did recovery but it keept failing then could not go into safe mode. I installed another hardrive (SATA) and have that as main boot now. i can now see all files on the original hardrive. My question? is there a way i can copy boot configuration files from the drive that is now working back to my failed xp to get in to run xp again. Im sorry for the silly way i have worded this but all corruption followed a nero 7 install that went wrong. Then a faulty ram was diagnosed from computer shop. Im just wanting to know if i can get boot files copied from new drive to old one..................Tracey

If XP is working on the new drive then why would you want to copy the files over to the old disk? You can still access your files on the old disk although you will probably need to re-install the program files onto the new disk.

And did you run a hard drive scan to see if you have any bad sectors on the old drive?
