I am currently running Windows XP Pro with sp2 and most recent updates.. Recently I had some malware and trojans on my computer, and my system32 folder had gotten all messed up. After fixing the problem and eventually having to make several changes to my registry, I have been recieveing a message after my computer posts when i startup:

BOOT LOG ERROR REPLACE WITH SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ANY KEY

I have tried verifying that my boot order and precenedence is ok, and I have run repair console to use 'fixboot' and 'fixmbr' nothing has worked thus far. I am not a very advanced window's user, and I would appreciate if someone knew what else it might be and how i could resolve it. The only copy of windows I currently have is one i downloaded, and its the very first XP pro, without any service packs onit. As of right now,I cannot start my computer and load windows without having that disc in one of my drives. I don't know what else to try.

Once booted up, leave the disc in the drive and go to start / run / and type - "sfc /scannow" without qoutes .....(for the halibut - run it a few times) ..if that doesn't work, you may have to do a repair install.

I typed in "sfc /scannow" and several DLL files came up, that were part of sp2, however the verison of windows xp that I have is an older version without sp1 or 2 on it. I am not sure what to do, perhaps download a new iso with sp2 on it?
