My boot sequence is not correct. I am getting a non-system disk error. I don't have a disk in the cd/dvd. My computer crashed and I had to restore it Windows 7. Now the boot sequence is not correct, each time it boots I have error and have to strike a key for it to start. What is the correct boot sequence? My computer is a Inspiron one all in one 19.(Dell) Not a touch screen. Thank you in advance.

Here is my boot sequence now:

    Here is my boot sequence
    1 Removable
    2 Sat: PM-WDC WD 3200
    3 USB
    4 CD?DVD: SM-HL-DT-ST
    5 Network

    Removable Drives
    Hard Drives
    C/D DVD
    Network

The standard would be CD/DVD and then HD (SAT: PM-WDC WE 3200). This way it will check you CD/DVD for a valid disc and then go to HD when if finds no bootable CD.

You could just put HD first but you will have to remember to change the order if you ever need to boot from CD. Or hit F12 during the Dell screen to get a one time Boot Menu when you need to boot to CD.

The way you have it set now with Removable first is the problem as it is probably trying to boot from an external HD or flash drive that is connected but has no OS on it.

What is the exact message on the screen?

Go ahead and try it with the HD (SAT: PM-WDC WE 3200) as the first device.

Quick observation: those symptoms may indicate a dead or dying CMOS battery - might be worth a replacement just to get that out of the way.

No luck tried your other suggestion too.

The error reads as: Non-Sustem Disk press any key

To clarify: when you 'strike a key', what key are you striking and does the machine then boot normally into Windows? If you are able to boot normally after clearing the boot sequence message, then that further fortifies my thought that there may be a CMOS battery problem.
