I turn on the computer to start the initial log on and it gets to the screen/ point where the Windows logo is scrolling with the yellow horizontal bar. After a brief moment, the screen changes. However, instead of "turning on" /accessing into desktop mode, the computer immediately displays “Power Saving Mode” and the screen goes blank (black). At this point I must power off and restart. After restarting I immediately then get the screen where I am asked to go to “Safe Mode” Safe mode with Networking” etc. I merely hit enter “start windows normally” this time the computer runs its process and it works fine? This problem happens every time I turn on the computer. Someone has suggested it might be a video card problem.

NOTE: This computer is less than 6 month old and I have already had to take it in for service for a similar problem.

Hm. That's very odd. Check your Power Options in the Control Panel. Is anything set so that your machine will hibernate, save power, or turn off the monitor? Do you have a back-up power supply? Also, there's usually a setting in the BIOS setup that allows you to disable or enable power management features. You could try turning that off.

Try updating the chipset drivers for your motherboard, and updating the video drivers.

And, of course, you should probably do the standard anti-virus and parasite scans.
