This is a recent build. Once I new my system was working smoothly, I went into the Bios and upped the Frequency of my Windsor 6000 to the manufactuer's suggested speed of 3.0ghz.

Every time I have rebooted since then, the following error comes up.

Warning! Now System is in Safe Mode.
Please re-setting CPU Frequency in the CMOS setup

    thanks geeks,

    It doesn't like the overclock.

    Note:

You should never have to adjust any frequency settings for any of today's CPUs. If you do, its considered an under/overclock.

no the default speed was 2ghz, i changed it to 3 ghz, and thats what it operates at. Its stable, running pretty cool, but I still get that error message on every boot up.

Maybe your board is not capable of running at the fsb that the cpu requires in stock form, like a 800fsb p4 in a 533 fsb mother board. ed
