For some reason, when I boot up my system, either warm or cold reboot, windows comes on, but I get an error message for the following.

    SmartBridge Alerts:
    MotiveSB.exe entry point not found

The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamiclink library PSAPI.DLL

I have no idea what this means or where it is located... but I think a file got deleted by mistake.

I attemped to download the AVG anti virus program and that is when the problems began. Any suggestions.. where can I find this file to reload it. or how can I correct the problem?

I am afraid I will need a bisic walk through.

Please send response to my email dale@hhr-lasers.com.
    Thanks,
    Dale

Hi and Welcome to Major Geeks, either I or someone else should be able to help you in this very situation!

    The Following may help:

SmartBridge -- SmartBridge is distributing an old version of PSAPI.DLL. As a result, users may receive the following error message after installation of Internet Explore 7 Beta 2: SmartBridge Alerts:MotiveSB.exe Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL
    To work around this error:
    1. Navigate to the installation location for SmartBridge (\Program Files\Verizon...\Smart...)
    2. Find PSAPI.DLL and rename it to something like PSAPIOLD.DLL
    3. Reboot the system
The program will find the new PSAPI.DLL in the \Windows\System32 directory and function normally.

    No problem! ;)

Also that key word verizon, sounds like a DSL .dll conflicting with IE7B2. Which, the above will indeed fix. :)

Using Windows Explorer go to C:\ProgramFiles\Verizon...maybe

Who is your internet provider? Could be under that name under Program Files.

    Left click the Start button.
    Left click All Programs.
    Left click Accessories.
    Left click Windows Explorer.

Left click on the + sign next to My Computer and you will see C:

Left click on the + sign next to C: to expand that and you will see Program Files listed

Left click on the + sign next to Program Files and look for probably AT&T or something like that and left click on the + sign next to it and the file you are looking for (PSAPI.DLL) should be there.

Just right-click on the file to rename it.
