When I start up the computer the windows screen gives me this error issue

    C:/Documents and Setting/HP_Administrator/Local Settings/Application Data/Wscatd9/Wscatd9.dll

Specified modual can not be found.

I searched the .dll directory on the net and cannot find "Wscatd9.dll"

I had downloaded the Microsoft DirectX (june 2010 edition) to restore this missing file. However when I search for this file. I cannot find it.

    Any Ideas?

Googling for Wscatd9, wscatd9 and variations with dll tacked on the end returns no hits. This generally indicates you had malware (if it says it failed to find it, it means it has been cleaned off).

To find out what version of directx is install do the following:
    1. Click on Start then Run
    2. In the Run box type
    Code:
    dxdiag
    and click okay
You will probably get a popup asking if it can connect to the internet. Allow it.
    3. On the System tab, the last entry is DirectX Version.

    Thanks for your input,

Any idea how I can get rid of this RUNDLL error message screen that opens when I start Windows?

It's probably a leftover reg. key. Download this to your C:\ drive and then once you run it, attach the resultant C:\MGLogs.zip:

MGtools and save it to your root folder. Double click the exe file to run it ( right click and run as Administrator if using Vista).

Copy just the bold text below to notepad (Do not include any space above the word REGEDIT). Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    What is this>

I was slightly intimidated when I first read your instruction. However, when I slowed down and followed every word it was easy. I received the registry success message, as you stated.

I then re-started windows and NO MORE RUNDLL error msg. Thank you very much for you expertise.
