Boot up problems

I had been playing games (off line)on my computer the night before and had disabled virus, popup blocker, and a few other things to give my video card a little boost. When I got on it the next morning to browse the net, I decided that the easiest way to get everything back on was to re-boot. Windows XP shut down ok, but would not boot up. Power comes on, lights and fans work, but no post beeps and nothing on the monitor. Have tried everything I know including resetting the bios. I am running AMD 2400, epox Mobo, 400 Watt power supply. Any ideas?

 

Doesn't sound good. No POST screen or beeps suggests that your CPU or motherboard may have decided to take a permanent holiday. But make sure it isn't your monitor. Can you borrow another one to hook up and see what happens?

 

Monitor is ok. Looks like its the mobo. I disconnected everything but graphics, and hard drive, still had the same problem. I took the processor to work with me this morning and tried it in an old computer. It works fine. So I guess I will invest in a new motherboard. Thanks for your quick response. As soon as I replace mobo, I will post results.

Just A Quick one to close this one out. It was a bad Mobo. Epox has had some trouble with this board, (EP-8RDA PRO). Thanks for your help.
