Boot up

On bootup i get one long bleep then two short ones and pc wont boot, need to turn off and boots second time ok any ideas what the problem is ?

We need to know the machine make and model # (and BIOS type, if you've got that handy). Those 'bleeps' sound like specific POST codes - if you can supply the info, we should be able to decipher them.

It seems that this would point to a video problem.Perhaps Caliban might agree
Looking at your board, you have an on-board video port, as well as the pci slots.
It could be that if you have a video card thats playing up, .
If you have, and you know enough to be able to remove it, and plug the monitor on to the on board video port, and see if that solves it.
It is also possible that you have a build up of dust and fluff causing a problem , and if so, removing the video card (if you have one), and blowing the fluf and dust off, then reseating might help.

 

Removed cleaned and reseated video card so far so good.
