I was wondering if anyone knew which app has the ability to

make a bootable recovery disk (an image)and burn it to DVD, so that I can reinstall my operating system quickly.

well if you wanted to make a backup of the partition so you could boot and restore it to that point...

use Acronis TrueImage as da chicken linked you to. its a great program and there is a review on this site with more info.

however, that will only work on the exact same hardware you did it on (assuming you already installed drivers and whatnot)

if you have the time and effort, you can make an Unattended Windows installation DVD, which would install and activate windows for you, as well as install any drivers/programs/games/themes whatever you want--so long as you can fit it on a DVD.

it's very time consuming, but its a great thing to have... heres a link for a tutorial http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/gettingstarted.htm
