I've looked in my BIOS to make my DVD rom bootable & the only thing there was my floppy, hard drive, raid array, & cd rom.

Does that mean I have to swap the ide cable between the roms for the BIOS to see my DVD rom?

No, just select CD-ROM. As far as your bios is concerned, your DVD-ROM is a CD-ROM.

It does not pick the dvd rom up only the cd rom when I boot up with a dvd.

I'll have a play with it maybe on the weekend & see what gives. :D

Might have to end up unplugging the cd rom. Not much of a loss. I can always plug it back in when I've done what I'm experimenting with.

Make the DVD drive Master, and the CD-Rom Slave. Also, what is on the DVD that you are trying to get the system to boot up?

O so simple. Didn't even think of that. Thanx.

I'm creating an unattended install of XP Home. It will end up well over a gig in size...........if I ever figure it all out.
