Allright people...I bought Symantec Ghost 9.0 three days before a trip to Ohio. I installed it and backed-up before i left. I Made a copy of the CD and left it at home. Well, i brought the Origional with me, incase i had to restore my image. Well, upon returning home from my trip, i found that my CD had been shattered in my laptop casehttp://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/eek.gif...But, I do still have the backup. The only problem is, its not bootable, like the origional was.

So, can someone send me a boot image file for the ghost 9.0 cd? Its totally useless without being able to boot from it. I would be forever greatful to that person http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

    Thanks a ton!

seems like there is a file on the cd "ghost.exe" and if you make any bootable cd, and copy this file to it, you are good to go. just boot off the cd and then type "ghost" at the command prompt

I cant find that file you're talking about....Also, by researching google...i -assume- from the results i've read, that version 9 doesnt have that dos executable...odd..Also, copying the ghost.exe from another version wont work, because in version 9 they changed the file format of the images from .Gho to .v2i. Im pretty ticked that noone has a boot image on the web for ghost, but they have it for every version of windows' cd.http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

Either way...thanks to anyone that can help

You have the registration number for Ghost, I assume. Contact Symantec, they may be able to send you a replacement disc or the downloadable installation.

yea i got the number somewhere...but i just moved, and it packed away...gosh i hate talking to tech support people...they ask me if my computer is turned on...and to make sure its plugged it...all those stupid questions annoy the snot outta me...But, ill look for the box with everything in it, and see what i can do....If not, im still open to solutions....

Also, Does anyone know if another imaging program...maybe acronis...can be started from DOS to restore....i frequently install Longhorn and the such, so most of the time it crashes for good...without being able to boot...So, i -really- do need something that i can stick on my homemade boot cd....

    Thanks for the help...

problem solved! i called em, they varified a few things, and told me my new CD is on its way!

In the mean time, i was over my friends house, and he uses Acronis True Image, and i honestly like it a little better...http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/eek.gif
