I've been in the process of repairing a corrupted BOOT.INI file from WINDOWS XP Pro on my Dell e1705 Inspirion. I booted from the XP CD and am working in the Recovery Console. I am at the point where I am being asked to "Enter the Load Identifier". I accidentlly entered
    /fastdetect /noexecute =optin
    instead of
    Windows XP Professional
    I realize that
    fastdetect /noexecute =optin
is what I should answer the next prompt "Enter OS Load Options" which is where my cursor is. Anyway to correct this? Or do I have to start all over.

Keep going .... you can change that later, quite easily.

Edit: To change the information later ....
Right-click on "My Computer' > Properties > Advanced tab > Startup and Recovery section > Settings > System startup > Edit
and modify the "operating systems" entry to look somthing like the following (on my machine)
This is a text file, open in Notepad. You now need to do the following in that Notepad window ...
File > Save > and then close the window, and click OK > OK etc to close all open windows/dialog boxes. All done!
