Bootleg XP

I had a comp with a, dare I say boot leg XP OS. I had an associate load it onto my comp and he said it would be fine. However my comp was infected by the virus that kicks you off of the internet. When MS put out the patch needed to fix this virus I couldn't download it to my comp because, voila, it is a bootleg-unregistered version (That's what I figured anyhow). Now I need to find out how to fix this so that I can have 2 comps running with I-net access. Please help out a digital dead dad. Thanks

 

The only solution is to purchase a licensed copy of XP.

 

You'll need to purchase a valid copy of XP. This will give you a key. You will then need to go into your system and change your key to the valid one you bought.

After you change it, you'll need to activate it. The quickest and easiest way is via the internet.

I would backup and save your data, buy a licensed copy of XP, then do a wipe and install XP.
