Borderlands question

Hey Guys,
I have been playing(addicted :-o) to borderlands for the PS3. I finally made it to the final boss the destroyer(bum bum bum ). But I can't seem to kill it...I've tried and tried but to no avail...i can get it down to a smidge health but it kills me every time. My character is Lilith lvl 33(if that helps any). could someone please help to kill this thing so I can finish the game(first playthrough that is ).

I'd suggest going back and farming some better equipment and maybe grinding out another level. That or re-spec. I'd be more than willing to help, but I play on PC. The destroyer has to be the worst boss fight in existence though, so if you skip it you aren't missing anything really. I play a Brick and it took no time to beat it, but I have Endowed maxed and was using a high damage spread launcher, the ones that empty the clip in one shot. Nothing quite like 5 rockets that do 600+ damage all at once, and with Endowed it ends up being thousands

I beat it( found a spot where it couldn't hit me and went wild with a combat rifle). I hit lvl 39 but sadly my file was corrupted and I had to start a new game . I am now a lvl 25 Roland .
