My boss couldn't sign into Skype so he came to me. I tried everything I could think of and everything that any blog out there including the Skype Help sites could offer. Updating, uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting .lock files, changing ports, changing internet configurations, disabling firewalls, uninstalling antivirus software...

It then became apparent that it wasn't only the Skype server. Dropbox wouldn't connect. AVG couldn't get to its server to update.

He runs Windows Vista. I run Windows 7. I downloaded Skype and it worked fine for me. It works fine for the other guy in the office who runs XP.

We're all connected wirelessly to the same router.

I intend to run MGTools during his lunch break to get a log for your perusal. I ran all the anti malware that you suggest, but I didn't think it would come to this so I didn't keep track of the logs and we cleaned his computer recently as he got the XP Recovery virus last week. I'll include whichever logs I can from these scans. That is, if you haven't heard of this and have a solution.

The issue is still occurring, internet but no server access to AVG, Skype, etc. My boss has since had his local IT guy come look at it and he wasn't able to solve the problem.

He had me hold off on asking your help until now.

I've run MGTools and have attached the Log.

    Thanks.

    Hi

If you are suspecting malware maybe still on that PC then do repost current logs in the Malware area of this forum as the malware experts we have here that can diagnose the custom MGTools logs rarely get out of the malware forum to review logs in the other areas like this on in networking.

But do run the full Read ME HERE again and then start a new thread in the Malware forum and attach all the logs and if malware is still found they will help you remove it, if after the removal the PC still wont connect to Skype then post back in this thread and mention that fact as well as link to your Malware thread and we can go from there.
