   a metal plate to sit on...
   It used to sit on top of a fan cooled base.
   Now it gets a bit warm and keeps shutting down.
   I have cleaned the inside of the laptop with a leaf blower.

   I broke the Zif connector on the motherboard. The keyboard connecting ribbon thing.
   I used tape to hold the ribbon in place. Its not connecting fully -certain letters are not working.
   I found this which should help.
