Brand new comp way too slow!!!!

Just got a new HP Pavillion zd8215 laptop w/built in wireless!!

My download speeds are so slow it is assinine!!!! I am supposed to getting download speeds of approx. 35kbps and i'm getting around 5-8!!

My old laptop with a wireless add-on card and 64 meg of memory and a 450mhz processor does just fine and this one... the new laptop...is slow as crap!!!

I'm relatively good with comps, spyware and viruses, and I assure there is none of that on there!!!!

The only thing i've done is take off norton internet security, which was no problem, and replace it with AVG and Sygate personal firewall!! Also I've downloaded and installed Firefox which ofcourse what i'm using to browse along with the built in download manager!!

Any Ideas!!??

I assume you have a network setup at home? What is the signal strength? What encryption are you using? If on a home network, what kind of ping times do you have with the other machines? What about to your router?

 

My bad....upon further investigation...I've discovered that it is the site itelf that is causing the problems!!!! I've downloaded a couple of other things elsewhere and they are super fast, but everytime I go back there(abit-usa.com), and try to do that download again...it is the same story!!!!

So anyway...I've posted on their forum to see if anyone knows of something!!!!
