I know the number one rule on every messege board is to search for something before you post a new thread. I've been looking and can't seem to find any posts specifying what I need to know.

So, with that said, here goes my first post!

I have an IP address. This address goes to a router. Now, the said router is moderatley secure. So, I need to go through a few proxy servers before I log on and meddle.

My buddy and I were talking about this and he informed me that for different connections, there are different proxies (ie: http, ftp, telnet, etc.). What I got from what he told me is that all I have to do is set up my proxy settings in my web browser then log onto the router. I don't see how this works, seeing as I'm using a command prompt and telnet session to access the router.

What I need to know is how to route my connection to a proxy server that will cover up my IP in a telnet session. I know there are ways to do it in a command line, but he didn't get to tell me that because he is a parapalegic and had to go sit down. ( ironic, I know. )

So, how to set up proxy settings in a command line atmosphere that gives me anonyminity with telnet.

He gave me this site of proxy servers: <!-- SNIP -->

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :major
