brightness on my monitor specifically photos

my monitor is fine, so i think anyway, i can see everything fine, except photos, they are too dark, i just need to turn the brightness up a little, i work doing tec support for dial up internet, and at the company i work at, i just right click on the desktop and click properties, and then click settings, and then advanced, and then riva tn2 and a little box pops up with options and has color correction and when u click on it, it has the brightness controls and everything, and i can adjust it, (here at work) but at home on my computer that i'm trying to brighten the screen on it has all the same options, but when i click on riva tn2, there is no little box with those options for color correction, do i just need to update the drivers on my video card possibly? or is is possibly just the video card i have installed, i just want to brighten pictures that i view a little, any suggestions?

No, it's not drivers, it's a colour profile if you want that feature.

nVidia drivers also allow you to adjust certain things. (not sure if riva tnt driver is the same?)

If it does, right click empty part of your desktop, then properties, then settings, then advanced, and finally the card tab.

 

If it is an LCD monitor, you can gain some improvements with ClearTweak (free)

 

ClearTweak is only for contrast settings for ClearType, which only affects text and not photos, which is the authors concern.


We have it HERE if you really want to try it, but I doubt it would fix your problem.
